Mission Move In: A Success

Filed under: Personal News — Audrey @ 3:12 pm

It was something of a trial, but we managed to get moved in to our new apartment this weekend. After numerous issues with utilities companies and the USPS, we are finally sorted out (I think) and will be moved into my office after I obtain a wireless card for my computer, since there is no cable outlet in there. (Um, yes. Major oversight on our part. Oh well.)

Not that you’re as geeked out as I am, but in case you are, you’re welcome to watch my silly little slideshow:

Because I’m in an Animated Mood- Features

Filed under: Personal News — Audrey @ 11:03 pm

More fun illustrations to share from DeviantArt.

As you can see, I’m in an animated mood this evening! These artists all use color VERY well, and have a great sense of mood and style. Enjoy! Drop by and comment for them.

Two New Discussion Forums at Musemart

Filed under: Business News — Audrey @ 10:58 pm

I gave in and decided that I couldn’t abandon two of my other loves- film and animation, and music. So there is now a forum for discussing both of those things, and requesting crits if those are your cup of tea.

Hope you’ll join us!

Updates have been delayed because… We are moving!

Filed under: Personal News — Audrey @ 10:23 am

Hello everyone,

Once again, my apologies for Monday content.

My husband and I are buried in half assembled cardboard boxes and most of the contents of our apartment. As if that wasn’t enough, I was innundated with well paying freelance work, which needed to get done prior to the move.

I’m caught up, but we’re still packing.

I’ll be sure to post pictures of the new place! It’s much bigger, brighter (windows in every room!) and I shall have my own office for doing freelancy type stuff in. I’m thrilled, and can’t wait.

Cross your fingers that the cable guy will get me hooked back up on Monday like he ought to, that the move will go well, and that I’ll actually have life restored to normal soon and can update when I make promises I can’t keep. ;)

If you don’t have my new address, and feel you should, please contact me and I’ll exchange info with you. Don’t worry, we’re not moving far! Still in Denver. Just up in the world.

Thanks to all of you for reading, as always (and your evident patience.)

Happy Anniversary To Us and Other Excuses

Filed under: Business News, Personal News — Audrey @ 12:11 am

My apologies for not putting up the Monday article on the 6th.

Monday was our second anniversary (yay for marriage being more fun than everyone led us to believe it would be) and my husband had more planned than I was, well, planning on.

Freelance also sprang up like mushrooms- one contractor needs me to take care of more than usual so she can take some personal time, and an old contractor called me up middle of last week desperate for as much time as I can give them. All good, except it’s bad for my “free time” to do list, and therefore, anyone reading along here.

I’d rather the writing I put up here be up to its full potential, so I’ll post the article as soon as I feel it’s ready and I have time to get it up. Hopefully all will resume as scheduled next Monday.

Thanks to those of you checking in! :)

Double Feature

Filed under: Personal News — Audrey @ 9:20 pm

Some great work found while browsing tonight, I wanted to share a couple. Maybe more to come in the next few days. A great feeling, finding talent on the web!

This is a really interestingly composed photo, and the artist says no filters or digital processing were used. A great wall, a great subject, and very nicely shot.

175 - dream
by ~SnowSkadi on deviantART

This is a fantastic piece- it really does feel like a dream, to me, and I love that you can still see the “paint”. The lighting is a unique choice, but it seems to help the dreamlike quality. The anatomy on all of SnowSkadi’s horses are amazing. :)

Update Schedule

Filed under: Business News — Audrey @ 10:19 am

You who are following have probably noticed I’m a bit random with my updating.

I am planning on keeping larger, article type updates to Mondays. The rest of the week will likely be random, as the mood strikes me. But you can count on something interesting on Mondays.

Thanks to all of you reading along! Look for Are You Ready to Own A Website part 1- Domain Names, on Monday sometime.

Pencil Feature by Zeldis

I found this to be a really beautiful pencil piece. The texture of the paper and the way the subject is lit give the piece a very vintage feel. I love that you can still see the way the pencil was used, and the simplicity of it.

Please take a minute, and vote in the poll to your right.

Filed under: Business News — Audrey @ 4:42 pm

I’ve been hearing from a few folks that the color scheme is hurting their eyes. (What, you say?? Don’t you know about usability testing!?) Well, yes, I do, but apparently the folks I asked weren’t the right crowd.

Seems folks are either loving the new look or hating it- either way- please let me know YOUR thoughts by voting. No registration required, though, of course, I’d really enjoy it if you did register and say hello.

Any other feedback on the site? You’re welcome to leave it in comments, or by contacting me.

EDIT: It seems most people really love it! The total was 7 vs 2 in favor of the current design. Thanks to all of you who voted- for now, things will stay the same, though I can’t resist switching things up every now and then and may very well end up changing for the season.

If you absolutely can’t stand the theme, try the RSS feed, linked to the bottom right.
