I know, I know- sign’s down, and the couch is still here. No redesign YET. I am frustrated, but sometimes life dictates what happens when.

While I haven’t forgotten about this redesign (hardly, been working on it when I have time), my husband’s recently been laid off, and I’ve been focused more on working on current projects and gaining new ones than I have reworking my identity. I will still be doing so as soon as possible. Thanks for your understanding!

I’ve decided that as practice, and as a way to give back to the WordPress project, I am going to do my best to do a few WordPress themes.

I’ve got one started already.

My goal is to make them a bit more fun and unique than average Wordpress themes. My first has a pirate theme.

When I get it tested and ready to rock and roll, I’ll be putting it up here. Hope to see you all back to check it out!

A friend of mine passed on the artwork of a friend of hers, who is selling her paintings on Etsy.

She’s abstract, which isn’t usually my thing- but I love her titles, and her great use of textures and color. Go check her out and give her some love! Who knows, you might find that painting for the living room.

Hi Folks,

I will be upgrading both my version of Wordpress and BBPress today to the newest versions, 2.3 and 8.3. IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THIS WILL GO WITHOUT A HITCH.

After reading three posting spats on Craig’s List this weekend, I decided to bring some more attention to this issue through my blog. Some of you who have been browsing my site, or following me for a while, will be aware that this is not a new issue for me, and something I am very passionate about.

There are a lot of people on Craig’s List (and frankly, all over the internet) who seem to expect illustrations, animation, design, web design, photography, etc. for free. I can’t count how many posts I see specifically requesting a “student”- from businesses or individuals hoping they’ll get someone who doesn’t know what their work and education is WORTH. I ran into the same thing when I was the switchboard operator at the Columbus College of Art and Design- we probably got at least two calls a day from businesses wanting students to gain “educational experience” doing work for them- for free. You know what we did? We told them they were out of luck, and hung up.

It was something of a trial, but we managed to get moved in to our new apartment this weekend. After numerous issues with utilities companies and the USPS, we are finally sorted out (I think) and will be moved into my office after I obtain a wireless card for my computer, since there is no cable outlet in there. (Um, yes. Major oversight on our part. Oh well.)

Hello everyone,

Once again, my apologies for Monday content.

My husband and I are buried in half assembled cardboard boxes and most of the contents of our apartment. As if that wasn’t enough, I was innundated with well paying freelance work, which needed to get done prior to the move.

I’m caught up, but we’re still packing.

I’ll be sure to post pictures of the new place! It’s much bigger, brighter (windows in every room!) and I shall have my own office for doing freelancy type stuff in. I’m thrilled, and can’t wait.

Cross your fingers that the cable guy will get me hooked back up on Monday like he ought to, that the move will go well, and that I’ll actually have life restored to normal soon and can update when I make promises I can’t keep.

If you don’t have my new address, and feel you should, please contact me and I’ll exchange info with you. Don’t worry, we’re not moving far! Still in Denver. Just up in the world.
