3D Work and Animations

Crayola Crayons
Face to Face

Animation and 3D is still very near and dear to my heart. This was my focus in school, and while it hasn’t ended up being the career I’ve pursued, I still enjoy the process and seeing others work. This is some of the animation and modeling work I’ve done in the past. Feel free to leave any comments using the form below.

Face to Face

Face to Face

What would happen if a mask completely changed who you were?

This short film, created for my senior thesis in Alias Maya, explores the themes of relationship and how we interact.

Based on the ancient theater arts of Comedia del’Arte, this piece is entirely pantomime. Each of the masks represents a new character- just don’t lose sight of the characters under the masks!

I wrote the script and designed all concepts for this piece. I modeled, rigged, animated, textured, lit, rendered, and edited the film as well, over the period of two semesters.

'Rusty' the Knight and Other Character Sketches

‘Rusty’ the Knight and Other Character Sketches

The Knight character, which our class dubbed ‘Rusty’, was created for class use by our instructor Charlotte Belland so we could focus on animation. The horse model was created by her as well, though I rigged the head creating my own blend shapes.

The following are various short films created to convey different situations and emotions. Please note that there is sound on these videos, and you may need to adjust your speakers accordingly.

Arlecchino Rig Demonstration

Face to Face Rigging and Modeling

These are two technical demonstrations of the models used in Face to Face, my senior thesis. Included are A short video demonstrating the full range of movement of the character, and a wireframe turnaround of the head and face, showing poly structure and numbers. Piece modeled and rigged in Alias Maya.

Traditional Animation Reel

Traditional Animation Reel

A reel of some of my traditional animation work. The unfinished quality is due to capturing with a camera connected to an Amiga computer and VHS system. All drawn by hand- old school!
